Author Information

Matthias Beck, PhD, is Professor in Public Sector Management and Head of the Management Group at Queen's University Belfast, UK. He previously held the chair in Public Sector Management at the University of York, UK. Before that he was Professor of Risk Management at Glasgow Caledonian University, UK. Sara Melo, PhD, is a Research Fellow and Project Manager at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. Before moving to Dublin, she worked as a Teaching Fellow in Public Sector Management at The York Management School, University of York, UK, where she received her PhD in Management. Her main research interests include networks, quality management and innovation, particularly in healthcare institutions. Before moving to York, she worked as a chartered accountant and as the CEO's assessor at a public district hospital in Portugal.
