Overview

In order to obtain standardized feed of high quality, with low loss rates and lower costs, feed mills must undergo an assessment of the quality aspects of raw materials; buildings and facilities; equipment and utensils; factory sanitation; personal hygiene; manufacturing; identification, storage, and distribution; pest control; quality control; and traceability assurance. To this end, sampling must be carried out at all stages of production, storage of raw materials, and feed processing to determine the physical, chemical, and microbiological analyses that characterize product quality, as well as loss rates in the processes.
