A family physician in the Bronx, he is on the faculty at Montefiore's Residency Program in Social Medicine and at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He writes about the personal side of medicine, teaches reflective writing to residents and medical students, and conducts writing workshops for health professionals, students and patients. Diane Guernsey is executive editor of Pulse--voices from the heart of medicine. A former senior editor and longtime contributor at Town & Country Magazine, she now writes about health, medicine and related topics for Consumer Reports and other publications. Diane's career extends to other fields as well. She is a classical pianist, teaching piano and coaching singers at Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY, and she is also a licensed psychoanalyst.
