OverviewPulmonary hypertension is a major global health problem, affecting an estimated 1% of the world's population and is thought to be associated with a variety of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases. Regardless of the underlying disease, pulmonary hypertension is associated with worsening symptoms and increased mortality. However, substantial advances have been made in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary hypertension over the past decade.
