An appealing tale to delight preschool readers while introducing them to the diversity of Ireland's wildlife, this is a welcome addition to the Irish language children's catalogue of the O'Brien Press -- The Echo

An appealing tale to delight preschool readers while introducing them to the diversity of Ireland’s wildlife, this is a welcome addition to the Irish language children’s catalogue of the O’Brien Press -- The Echo joyous … simply wonderful. Hearing and reading it in lyrical as Gaeilge is a thing of magic. I adore sweet Puffling in all her adventures. Adorable, expressive, colourful illustrations combine to tell a story that every child will long remember and enjoy. Full of joy and charm…and a great story! -- Fallen Star Stories Bhain mé an-taitneamh as an leabhar seo agus an eachtra a bhí ag puifín beag agus a chairde. Táim cinnte de go dtaitneoidh sé go mór le páistí óga agus go mbeidh sé an-úsáideach sa seomra ranga nó sa bhaile mar leabhar baile  -- Bronagh Ni Phreastuin, Co BÁC * InTouch Magazine *

Author Information

GERRY DALY is a children’s author and illustrator living by the beautiful sea in Dublin. He hasn’t seen any whales from his window, but saw many off the coast of West Cork. His previous books include the best-selling Where Are You, Puffling? and Wee Donkey’s Treasure Hunt, both written by Erika McGann and also published by The O’Brien Press. He loves to paint birds and animals, from the tiniest to the biggest of them all. Erika McGann grew up in Drogheda, County Louth, and now lives in Dublin. She is the author of many books including The Demon Notebook (winner of the Waverton Good Read Children’s Award), the ‘Cass and the Bubble Street Gang’ series and Tabitha Plimtock and the Edge of the World. Her picture books include the Where Are You, Puffling? stories (illustrated by Gerry Daly) and Standing On One Leg Is Hard and What is a Peachick? (illustrated by Clive McFarland). Muireann is a children's author and performer. Although a Cork City native, she spent much of her childhood in the Corca Dhuibhne Gaeltacht in Kerry where her father's family are from and is a proud Irish speaker. When she’s not writing books, dancing about on your TV screen or cooking up new shows or ideas, you'll find her in the sea, doodling in her sketchbook or most likely running around after her young and very energetic sons on the beaches of Tramore, Co. Waterford. She hopes that this book will be the perfect excuse to fulfil a lifelong dream of getting a puppy and calling him Murphy!
