Author Information

Lester Bangs (1948-1982) was a music journalist, critic, author, and musician. He wrote for Creem, the Village Voice, and Rolling Stone, and was known for his leading influence in rock music criticism. Ramiz Monsef has spent several seasons as a member of Oregon Shakespeare Festival's acting company, and he is the playwright of OSF's 2013 production The Unfortunates. He has also appeared onstage in New York and in numerous regional productions. Greil Marcus has written many books, including Mystery Train, Lipstick Traces, The Old, Weird America, and The History of Rock 'n' Roll in Ten Songs. With Werner Sollors he is the editor of A New Literary History of America. He was born in the Middle West, in San Francisco, and lives in Oakland, California.
