OverviewThe aim of this book is to demonstrate the role of psychomotor therapy in working with military patients suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This work focuses on the perception of time and the acknowledgment of trauma within the identity issues faced by these patients. The goal is to help the patient reestablish a connection with themselves through the recognition of their emotions, experiences, and injury. This process also involves reintegration into the present moment and a more coherent perception of time. This restoration of identity allows the individual to regain confidence in their connection to themselves and to others. The first part describes PTSD through its history, exploring non-theoretical definitions, the neurophysiological approach, and cognitive-behavioral and psychoanalytic hypotheses. These different perspectives on PTSD are integrated into a psychomotor approach. The second part traces the care journey of a military personnel with PTSD and explores the possibilities for psychomotor therapy interventions, both individually and in groups.
