Author Information

Karen Goldfinger, Ph.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist with a private practice in psychological assessment and psychotherapy in Essex, Connecticut. Psychological assessment has been an abiding interest over the course of her career, beginning in graduate school at the State University of New York at Albany. She has completed countless psychological assessments in clinical, forensic, and educational settings over more than 20 years. She has written psychological assessment manuals, supervised clinical psychology doctoral students and interns in psychological assessment, and taught psychological assessment to doctoral students in a professional psychology program. Andrew M. Pomerantz, Ph.D., is Professor of Psychology and Director of the Clinical Adult Psychology Graduate Program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. He teaches a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses related to clinical psychology. He also maintains a part-time private practice of clinical psychology in St. Louis, MO. He earned his B. A. in psychology from Washington University in St. Louis, and his M. A. and Ph. D. in clinical psychology from Saint Louis University. He completed his predoctoral internship at Indiana University School of Medicine Psychology Training Consortium. He is the author of Clinical Psychology: Science, Practice, and Culture (3rd Edition, SAGE, 2013) and Psychological Assessment and Report Writing (with Karen Goldfinger; SAGE, 2010). He has served on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Psychology, Ethics & Behavior, and the Journal of Contemporary Psychotherapy. He served two terms as president of Psychotherapy Saint Louis and is a member of the American Psychological Association.
