OverviewDuring May 2006 Flowers Graphics will be staging an exhibition of rare prints by Prunella Clough. A catalogue will be available to accompany the exhibition, which will illustrate for the first time in one place some of the extraordinary and wonderful etchings she made in the last decades of her life.Prunella Clough was born in London in 1919, the niece of the designer Eileen Grey. She studied at Chelsea School of Art and then worked as a draughtsman during the War. She taught at both Chelsea and Wimbledon Schools of Art, and exhibited widely. Important exhibitions include a retrospective at the Whitechapel Art Gallery in 1960, the Serpentine Art Gallery in 1976, a highly acclaimed exhibition at Camden Art Centre in 1996, and in the late summer of 1999 a Retrospective at Kettles Yard, Cambridge. Just before her death in 1999 she won the prestigious Jerwood prize for painting.
