OverviewAgriculture is the main activity for human beings, both for subsistence and to develop a given region through a productive unit. Because it is a demanding and decisive job, it has gone through a process of giving up, initiating a predominant rural exodus among small producer families, in the face of poor working conditions, as well as a lack of incentives. Over the years, innovation and technology have affected agriculture, resulting in less manual and costly work in the production process. This scenario has made it easier to handle, but it has also created some discomfort for farmers who used to produce in a cultural way, giving the space to their children. The aim of this study is to analyze young people's prospects for succession in dairy farming, as well as the influence of innovation and technology, by interviewing families. Five properties were visited, presenting the prospects for family succession, along with the benefits that technology and innovation have made available to them.
