His areas of interest include gestalt phonology, prosody, structuring of spoken language on all levels, construction grammar, and linguistic epistemology. Maria Selig is teaching romance linguistics at the University of Regensburg. Her research interests focus on language change and variation. She is especially interested in the spoken-written research paradigm and its impact on linguistics. Christine Mooshammer is teaching phonetics and phonology at the Humboldt- Universität zu, Berlin.
