LINGUIST List Author InformationDr Anthony Fox is Senior Lecturer in the Department of Linguistics and Phonetics at the University of Leeds, where he has been Head of Department since 1989. He studied Modern Languages and Phonetics at the University of Edinburgh, obtaining his doctorate with a dissertation on the intonation of German and English. His research has been mainly devoted to intonation, particularly in relation to other prosodic features, and to intonational typology.
