The devil wants the Christian to fixate on future prophecy, rather than the present reality foretold by the prophets. The spirit of prophecy is the testimony of Jesus. (Revelation 19:10) You do not need to guess at the definition. The formula is clear from Scripture. Prophecy that does not witness to Jesus is part of the deception! The Revelation of Jesus Christ is about the revelation of Jesus Christ. Why can't we read and simply understand the first phrase of the Bible's last book? This deception turning our eyes away from seeing Jesus, His eternal character, as foretold by the prophets. Jesus never came to set up the next global religion. We did that. Rather, Jesus simply came to live in His body. I am not saying Jesus is never coming back. Rather, why do you live as if Jesus is far off somewhere when He said He would never leave us? Make your top priority the same as Jesus' top priority of Resurrection Sunday. The Old Testament goes far beyond types and shadows to truly show how it is all about Jesus before it was about any person, place, or thing.
