OverviewCharacterized as a perennial crop, the acerola tree is a species that can be multiplied by various types of propagation, including direct sowing, cuttings, grafting, alporquia and dives. Most studies on acerola propagation report results from cuttings, where the seedlings produced are genetically the same as the mother plant, but little is known about the use of grafting in acerola. In addition to this study, more research into acerola propagation using grafting is needed, since grafting is a technique that favours the standardization of plants in a commercial orchard, improving productivity, and generally solving the problem of uneven plants in the field from seedlings produced only by seeds and which have not been grafted.
