Overview

The PROMPT (Practical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training) course covers the management of a range of obstetric emergency situations. It contributes to the training standards for the Clinical Negligence Scheme for Trusts (CNST) in England and Wales, as well as being best practice in many other countries. The course consists of interactive lectures, drills and workshops, providing hands-on experience of practical skills and teamworking in simulated obstetric emergency situations. This second edition has been comprehensively updated to reflect the latest research and current clinical practice, and four new modules have been added, broadening the scope of the book. The Trainer's Manual is a vital adjunct to the PROMPT Train the Trainers day. It provides guidance and materials to facilitate the implementation of PROMPT courses by certified trainers in their local units or institutions.
