Going to college far from home seemed like an adventure at first for Mia Mills. This experience is poisoned when the freshman stumbles upon a video in an alleyway. The footage is sickening; she's sure it's a murder, but she cannot identify the killer or the victim. Mia knows it's best to take the evidence to the police, but soon begins to suspect the killer may be out to get her. Hoping that she can protect herself by the time she goes to the police, Mia launches her own investigation first. She doesn't expect it to be popular art student Javier Herrera, who has only just befriended her. The stone-cold killer keeps her close, waiting for an opportunity to dispose of the evidence-and of Mia. Javier is rarely as clumsy as he'd been that night. He's a skilled assassin, and he won't hesitate to protect himself. At least, he didn't expect to have any issue. When he and Mia become closer as she searches for the identity of the murderer, Javier is no longer sure he can take her out. While desperately trying to keep the truth from Mia, Javier struggles with himself to finish the job as the two of them begin to fall for one another.
