OverviewIn order to respond to the need for standardization activities in Europe, the European Standardization Committee (CEN) approved in March 1990 the establishment of a Technical Committee for Medical Informatics (CEN TC 251). In the USA, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has established a Health Care Informatics Standards Planning Panel (ANSI HISSP) in December 1992. The HISSP working structure is very close to the organization in CEN TC 251, this facilities the information exchange between these working parties. This book gives an overview of the current standing of the work in Health Informatics Standardization worldwide. The contributions cover topics such as models, the electronic Health Care record, coding systems, messaging, open systems, health cards, imaging communication with medical devices and data protection. It should be of interest to medical informatics experts, health administration, and users who intend to implement new systems. Full Product DetailsAuthor: Georges J. E.
