Overview

Programmed to Win by K. A. Brown caught my attention almost immediately. Page after page, I became more and more invested in the characters. The development of the storyline kept me engaged to the point I could not put the book down. I lean toward romance novels, but this is definitely a must-read. The author has a true gift. While this breaths of a political novel, you will be surprised by the twists and turns and the unexpected nature of this book. Party affiliations have been set aside. This book does not choose sides. As a professional proofreader and avid reader, I have read and/or reviewed thousands of books. Yet, I cannot remember another book with an intricate plot that is not cliché or over-complicated. His characters are not only believable, but they're also relatable. His plot and subplots work together to create a fascinating story that could happen in real life. His writing style is unique-complicated, yet not overwhelming; detailed, yet not even a little bit boring. If you enjoy political suspense-or even if, like me, you typically don't-I highly recommend this book. KA Brown is a first-time author whose debut novel, Programmed to Win, is a political thriller set to be published by Tactical 16 Publishing in the early summer of 2023. Before becoming a writer, KA spent 26 years as a firefighter and recently retired to pursue his passion for writing.In addition to his career as a firefighter, KA has always been an avid reader and has always had a love for storytelling. KA enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife, two grown children and two grandchildren, when he's not writing. He is also a proud pet owner of a rescued German shepherd dog.KA's experience as a firefighter has given him a unique perspective on the world and has inspired him to explore complex themes in his writing.
