Author Information

Dr. Abhishek Tiwari obtained his Ph.D. from the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai, India where he developed a novel constraint loss parameter known as, 'Weibull Triaxiality' and modified analytically the master curve approach to include the events of cleavage fracture in the upper region of DBT. In 2018, he started his postdoctoral work at Erich Schmid Institute of Material Sc. under Austrian Academy of Sciences in Leoben Austria, where he worked for two years. During this period, he worked on application of configurational force concept for improvement of fracture toughness. His research interests are in understanding the mechanics of materials and modelling of damage in materials. Other areas of research are to design material structures to enhance the fracture toughness using configurational force based calculations in large scale plastic, creep, cyclic and creep-fatigue conditions. Dr. Pratik Kumar Ray is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Metallurgical & Materials Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Ropar. He joined IIT Ropar in June 2019. Prior to joining IIT Ropar, he worked as an Associate Scientist (2015-2019) at Ames Laboratory (US Department of Energy) and was an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Iowa State University. He obtained his PhD from Iowa State University working on High Temperature Materials, with Prof. Mufit Akinc and Prof. Matthew J. Kramer. He completed his post-doc on high temperature ceramics and high-entropy alloys in Ames Lab. Dr. Neha Sardana holds a B.Tech from IIT Roorkee and MS from the Technical University of Denmark. She obtained her Ph.D. from the International Max Planck Research School for Science & Technology of Nanostructures (IMPRS-MLU), Germany. She has served as a Scientist at the Institute of Nano Science & Technology and as an Assistant Professor at IIT Jodhpur before joining IIT Ropar in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. Her key interests are in the field of Nanostructured materials and plasmonics. She has made three devices and filed 6 patents. Dr. Rajiv Kumar is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, IIT Ropar. He obtained his PhD from IITB-Monash Research Academy (a joint venture of Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and Monash University, Australia) with specialization in high-temperature corrosion. He worked as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Metallurgical Engineering followed by the Punjab Engineering College Chandigarh.
