He obtained his Ph.D from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani in the year 1993. He was engaged for his Post-doc research at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, USA. He has extensive teaching and research experience in structural Engineering more than 30 years. His research interests are in the areas of Fiber Reinforced Concrete; High Volume Fly Ash Concrete; Use of Industrial By-Products in Cement-Based Materials; Self-Compacting Concrete; Properties of Concrete at Elevated Temperatures; Microbial Concrete; and Characterization of Leachate from Concrete made with Waste Materials. He is the Editor of the Journal of Construction and Building Materials, Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering, and European Journal of Environmental and Civil Engineering. Dr. Marios Soutsos – Professor of Structures/Materials at Queen’s University Belfast (QUB). He was, prior to his appointment in QUB, a Lecturer/Reader in Structures and Concrete Technology at the Centre for Engineering Sustainability, School of Engineering, The University of Liverpool from 1995 till 2011. He has had industrial experience in Cyprus, Libya, Saudi Arabia, and Bahrain prior to returning to Academia. Principal research experience is in construction materials and current interests include high-strength concrete, cement replacement materials, chemical admixtures, concrete rheology, the use of recycled demolition aggregate in concrete products, repair materials, and heat of hydration effects in concrete structures, as well as alkali-activated binders. Dr. Juan Li is a Professor and Program Director of the Nonmetallic Excellence & Innovation Center for Building Materials (NEXCEL) at China Building Materials Academy, China. Her research focuses on low-carbon cement, high-performance concrete, durability of concrete, and evaluation of concrete durability under multiple actions, energy and emission of cement and concrete. She has been the Co-chair of RILEM-TC-TDC and Co-chair of RILEM-TC-CCC WG4. She is a Technical Member of the United Nations South-South Cooperation and Climate Bond Initiative. Dr. Trong-Phuoc Huynh, Doctor of Philosophy at the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, is an Associate Professor and Advanced Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Can Tho University, Vietnam. His research focuses on concrete science and technology, green and lightweight construction materials, alkali-activated materials, the application of pozzolanic materials, and turning wastes into construction materials. Dr. Tuan Ngo is a Professor of Infrastructure Engineering at the University of Melbourne, Australia, pioneered the development of sustainable construction materials and innovative lightweight modular building systems for the construction industry in Australia. The methodology he developed provides superior multi-functional materials with superior thermal, acoustic and fire properties, as well as low environmental impact. He has been named one of the world’s leading experts in the field of Composite Materials in 2023. His research interests are in the areas of Prefabricated modular buildings; Extreme loadings: blast, impact and fire; Sustainable materials and low carbon technologies; Composite materials; Modelling urban systems and design of sustainable buildings.
