OverviewThis publication is the proceedings of Energy Materials 2014, a conference jointly organized by The Chinese Society for Metals (CSM) and The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS), and held in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China, November 4-6, 2014. With the rapid growth of the world's energy production and consumption, the important role of energy materials has achieved worldwide acknowledgment. Energy materials are a bottleneck in many industrial sectors, and therefore they are of great concern and are irreplaceable. The major purpose of this conference is to provide a platform to exchange fresh ideas, experiences, and latest achievements in the development and application of energy materials, and to strengthen and enhance collaboration among the professionals from all related industrial sectors, research facilities, and universities worldwide. There are 113 manuscripts published in the conference proceedings CD. We would like to express our sincere thanks to all the contributors. The manuscripts collected in this collection are divided into the following seven sections: plenary papers, materials for coal-based systems, materials for gas turbine systems, materials for nuclear systems, materials for oil and gas, materials for pressure vessels, and others. It is our hope that Energy Materials 2014 can promote and will further promote the research and development of energy materials.
