He was awarded the Special Allowance of the State Council of China, the “Millions of Talent Projects” National candidates, the National Outstanding Scientific and Technical Workers, the National Innovation Excellence Award, the “Top Ten National Science and Technology Innovation”, the Mao Yisheng Railway Science and Technology Award, and the Zhan Tianyou Achievement Award. Professor Jia has served as the Deputy Head of the overall expert group for key national projects during China's ""11th Five-Year Plan"" for the ""Joint Action Plan for Independent Innovation of High-Speed Trains,"" the ""12th Five-Year Plan"" for ""High-Speed Train Science and Technology Development,"" and the ""13th Five-Year Plan"" for ""Advanced Rail Transit."" He also chaired the initiation and implementation of the key national project ""Transport Equipment and Intelligent Transportation"" during the ""14th Five-Year Plan."" He is the pioneer of intelligent railway transportation systems, autonomous transportation systems, and transportation energy integration technologies. He has won 2 Second Prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress, 7 International Invention Gold Awards, 2 China Patent Excellence Awards, 24 provincial and ministerial level science and technology awards. He has published 31 monographs in Chinese, 4 monographs and 16 series in English. Published over 800 academic papers in both Chinese and English. Peng Jia received a B.S. in Transportation Civil Engineering and Computer Science and Technology, and an M.S. in Transportation Engineering from Dalian University of Technology in 2003 and 2006, respectively. He received a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Nagoya University, Japan, in 2009. Currently, he is a professor in the Department of Logistics and Supply Chain Management at Dalian Maritime University. He is the director of the Liaoning Provincial Key Laboratory of Comprehensive Transportation Big Data, the director of the Dalian Engineering and Technology Research Center of “Intelligent Operation of Multimodal Transportation”, the executive director of the China Association of Ports and Harbours, and the executive director of China Society of Logistics.
