OverviewIn the twenty-second century, part of humanity has become amphibious and lives on tropical islands and in the seas around the globe. A group of Aquas are genetically modified by an alien species from a dying world, searching for a planet to settle on. From their ship orbiting Earth, these newcomers attempt to make contact with humans and settle on Earth. They eventually disappear, leaving behind the Aquas, who now resemble them genetically, and their scientific legacy. These Aquas are quickly associated with the aliens and become victims of persecution; attempts are made to prevent them from reproducing so as not to contaminate the planet. They thus become aliens themselves, but they remain fundamentally human. However, they must fight for their right to live on Earth.
