She was Adjunct Professor at Fordham University (New York), Visiting Scholar at Columbia Law School (New York), Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Grantee at the Max-Planck Institut (Germany) and Senior Humboldt Scholar in various German research institutions. Katia has also lectured at numerous European and Latin American Universities. She holds a European PhD summa cum laude from the University of Zaragoza, and an LLM summa cum laude (prize Edward J. Hawk) from Fordham University. Katia is the author of numerous books, book chapters and articles on international economic law, international arbitration, private international law, and comparative law. Katia has been involved in diverse international litigation and arbitration cases in the USA and Europe, and she has chaired various commercial arbitration panels.
