Author Information

The authors varied life experiences combined to develop the methods and abilities that he used in performing his occupation as an effective corrections officer. He pursued athletic endeavors in his youth and had to deal with violence in his home and in the streets. He managed McDonald's restaurants for a couple of decades and was a mechanical engineer for another decade, among numerous other jobs. As a standup comedian he gained skills in dealing with groups of people. He was active in Toastmasters for over two decades. Becoming a corrections officer was not a lifelong dream. It became his occupation when as an old guy, he needed a job and the state was not allowed to discriminate due to age. Don't ask for his opinion unless you really want it, because it's been said that he is painfully blunt. He tells it like it is. He doesn't try to be different; he just is. He has to work at blending in with what is perceived to be normal.
