Author Information

Robert Tyson is a Fellow of SPIE and professor emeritus at the Department of Physics and Optical Sciences, University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Before joining the faculty of UNC Robert worked in the aerospace industry (United Technologies Corporation and Schafer Corporation) for over 20 years. Working in the field of atmospheric propagation and adaptive optics, he have authored seven books in adaptive optics at various levels as well as graduated a number of master's and PhD students whose research was in physical (or Fourier) optics.
