Overview

In the fractured kingdoms of the Outer Nile, an Egyptian princess is tasked by her father to negotiate a deal with a troublesome nobleman. As the young princess Meryankh struggles to put her diplomatic training to use against the eccentric lord's odd customs, the political situation in the surrounding lands starts to sour and the first signs of greater trouble start to emerge. In the future, an archaeologist searches for clues relating to a lost queen. Her research leads to her crossing paths with a mysterious figure, one that may very well have ties to a shadowy organisation calling itself the Unified Empire. Rumoured to be led by a rogue AI calling itself the Empress, this dark network of spies, assassins, and saboteurs keep a tight leash on the puppet leaders of Earth's assorted nations. With (possibly) one of their agents taking an interest in her work, will Dr. Bulan be able to pay the hidden price for this man's assistance?
