EDWARD SPANN is the retired dean of the College of Fine Arts at Dallas Baptist University. He has taught hymnology and has served as chairman of church music programs at Shorter College, Houston Baptist University, and Dallas Baptist University. He was founder and director of the Department of Sacred Music at a Baptist seminary in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He holds degrees from Ouachita Baptist University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and the Ph.D. from Florida State University. MICHAEL WILLIAMS is dean of Humanities and Social Sciences and professor of History at Dallas Baptist University. He holds the M.Div. and Ph.D. (Church History) from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is the author of I. T. Tichenor and the Creation of a Baptist New South (University of Alabama Press), To God Be the Glory: The Centennial History of Dallas Baptist University, 1898-1998, and Victory through Faith: A History of the Rosen Heights Baptist Church.
