"The goal for this book is to bring to the attention of the reader, regardless of religious or political beliefs, opinions about society, or views regarding end-times or ""doomsday,"" the importance of being prepared for an emergency for the benefit of your family and others. If you have watched any of the doomsday or prepping shows on television, then you have seen people depicted as focusing on one disaster or another. Instead, most preppers and survivalists agree that families should focus on self-reliance and general preparedness in the event of an emergency. There is not a ""one-size-fits-all"" plan when it comes to preparedness measures. We help the reader determine and establish reasonable and attainable preparedness measures for themselves and their family. We illustrate the difference between basic, minimal, moderate, and extreme preparedness. Charts, lists, and product suggestions are included to help the reader better determine what they need and to what extent they want to prepare themselves and their family."

Melissa Woltmann has ministered together with her husband Dan for 25 years in many aspects of church ministry. From the smallest children to the most senior of adults, they have been a part of seeing the Lord work in all ages and aspects of life. Facing some of the difficulties that life brings, they saw the Lord provide and meet needs in might ways. While helping others face some of the same difficulties in their lives, they have learned the biblical principles for being prepared to meet the needs of others. They have dealt with all sizes of churches and communities in their years of ministry. Melissa's gifts of organization and creative vision have helped develop many of the materials used in their ministry. Her touch of godly discernment and input has been fundamental to the feel and face of the ministry. As a young girl growing up in Florida, she began seeing the importance of preparedness. Years spent living in Michigan and North Carolina gave her insight into preparedness for winter weather situations. In this book, her love and compassion for the needs of those facing difficulties and tragedies in life has been essential.
