Overview

Throughout time, and has come again, the need for the arts, the artist, in whatever form; a story, an article, a painting, a song, a comic exposé, or in my case, poetry/spoken word, to RISE UP and amplify the cause for truth and justice to be heard and heartfelt. For such an endeavor, PREDATOR is a poetic story trying to slow down, isolate and de-mystify the situations, circumstances and related consequences of current trends. It's time for individuals to personally ponder and contemplate where, when, how, and for what to make a stand and make demands. There is little space and time to make the mistake of taking for granted what lies ahead. Whatever one thinks is so distant to continue believing it does not apply to self IS COMING LIKE AN UNAVOIDABLE DEVASTATING TSUNAMI WAVE! So let us all become aware, beware and prepare: CHANGE IS A COMING! Do take a moment to consider some of what's herein mentioned and choose where you may need to make a stand because there are lives in the balance, children under fire, and innocent blood being spilled.

Jose M. Yrizarry is a teacher/counselor turned writer, poet, environmentalist, entrepreneur, and lifelong advocate for truth and justice. Born in 1955 in Brooklyn, New York, to a proud Puerto Rican family rooted in civic duty, he was raised in a community that valued integrity, faith, and the belief that liberty and justice were for all.From a corporate office in the now-fallen World Trade Center, as a father looking back on the hometown he thought he had left behind, Jose witnessed the rising despair fueled by violence, addiction, and gentrification. It was then he chose a new path-leaving behind the trappings of corporate life for one of service, activism, and writing.Through thought-provoking articles and poetry, he gives voice to the voiceless: the sick, the suffering, the persecuted, and the forgotten.
