Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationRevd Dr Devon Dick, pastor of Boulevard Baptist Church, St Andrew Jamaica, is a significant Jamaican clergyman who, in 2013, was awarded the Order of Distinction (Officer Class) by the Government of Jamaica for dedicated contribution to religion and community service. Over the years he has been committed to the development of the Jamaican voice and has done so avidly through his articles and his books - among which are Enduring Advocacy for a Better Jamaica: A Collection of Conversations (2019), The Cross and the Machete: Native Baptists of Jamaica - Identity, Ministry and Legacy (2009), and Rebellion to Riot: The Jamaica Church in Nation Building (2002). He is a Justice of the Peace, and was a Gleaner columnist for some 25 years. He has served as a former President of the Jamaica Baptist Union (2016-2018), former chairman of the Jamaica National Heritage Trust (1999-2005) and the Toll Authority Jamaica (2012-16).
