OverviewOur children's young adult and college years are packed with important life decisions that shape their personal growth. They need the love and support of their parents and a firm trust in God to see them through this complicated season of life. Lift them up to the Lord with this book of short, poetic prayers. Each of these thirty-one prayers explores a different aspect of your child's life--from bodily health and friendships to ambitions and creativity. Kathleen accompanies each prayer with Scripture passages and short reflections for meditation. Let Kathleen's words guide your prayers to God for your child's physical, emotional, and developmental needs that will prepare them for the path to adulthood that lies ahead. This volume offers prayers for young adults. Other books in the series provide prayers for young children, teens, and adults. What a blessing it is to thank God for our children! Kathleen Nielson's beautifully written book, Prayers of a Parent: For Young Adults is a wonderful guide to help parents pray for a variety of needs. While young adults may leave our homes, they never leave our hearts. These daily prayers will bless them wherever they may go.--Melissa Kruger, Director of Women's Initiatives, The Gospel Coalition We love how these beautiful, biblical prayers help us to pray most earnestly (1 Thessalonians 3:10), pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and to pray specifically for our own young adult children. Furthermore, pastors should encourage every member to pray for the children of the church, and assist them in doing so. This book would be a huge help to that end, for often people are willing to pray but do not know what to pray for (Romans 8:26). For those in congregations that take this vows like Do you as a congregation undertake the responsibility of assisting the parents in the Christian nurture of this child? - we can't imagine a better or more important way of fulfilling that vow than praying for those children, from their youth to age.--Anne and Ligon Duncan, Wife, Mother, Christian Educator; Chancellor and CEO, Reformed Theological Seminary "As our children grow, so do many of our concerns.
