OverviewOut of hundreds of buildings designed by Wright, the AIA recognizes the Price Tower in Barlesville, OK, as one of his 17 most important works. The 19-storey tower (Wright's tallest built project) is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The book's illustrations will include new photographs of the restored building, drawings, blue prints, and photos of models and works of decorative art (furniture, textiles, and ceramics). The book will also include a general overview of the origins and development of the Price Tower; the migration of the skyscraper from city to country in Wright's work (this building was originally conceived for St. Mark's-in-the-Bowery in New York in the 1920s); the Price family as patrons of Wright; and the relationship of the decorative arts to the building and its geometries.
