In a sea of test prep tools, Practice Tests for the SAT is a unique oasis of explanation with an eye on mastery for every student. From the very beginning of the book, the authors focus on ensuring that the purpose of the exam is clear to readers. It goes through various sections, tools for success and even goes as far as to define test-related terms so that readers who are less familiar with the test-prep industry can fully engage with the idea and purpose of the SAT. Every section of the test is explained in great detail, along with giving specific samples and sample problems. For example, the math section in the beginning shows how to do various types of problems that are categorized by types of process. Each of the five, full-length tests has a full answer key that not only gives the correct answer to each question, but explains with great specificity why each answer is correct and/or how it was derived. That type of detail is rarely found in such texts. I would not hesitate to recommend Practice Tests for the SAT to anyone who is starting their journey with test prep ahead of college applications. Its attention to detail, terrific examples, and clear, straightforward explanations make it an invaluable tool for students. - Dr. Aimee L. Weinstein, D.A. The list of idioms, for example, is nicely done and would prove helpful to some non-readers. I would pick and choose the sections that certain students would find helpful, based upon their skill set. The Reading and Writing sections of the tests, the questions and lengths of reading seem in line with the current versions of the test. The Math section, at least in test one, seems rather simple. Came across this manual on SAT which perfectly compiles together all aspects which are tested in exam. This booklet is a perfect example of my handbook . Initial pages are dedicated to all the important topics, which are relevant to the exam. Then itemized all Grammar rules, Strategies & Maths formulas in a very systematic approach, which is perfect for revision. This handbook can be used by students as one stop shop to revise all content at the same place a week before the real SAT. Later part of the manual covers 5 full length tests on SAT which are a replica of real test. Brush up of concepts followed by timed tests gives a boost and motivation to perform well on SAT. Elaborated explanations and organized content make practice a smoother process.
