Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationDr. Hyun-Yoon Ko (author) is a specialist in rehabilitation medicine, focusing on spinal cord injury, and a professor emeritus from Pusan National University College of Medicine since his retirement. He is a fellow of the International Spinal Cord Society (ISCoS) and an official member of the Korean Academy of Medical Sciences. After graduating from Pusan National University College of Medicine, Dr. Ko trained in rehabilitation medicine at Hanyang University Hospital. He established the Department of Rehab Medicine at Kosin University College of Medicine, and later founded the department at Pusan National University Hospital and Pusan National University Yangsan Hospital. Dr. Ko studied spinal cord injury rehabilitation at Thomas Jefferson University and spinal injury centers in the UK. He served as the inaugural director of the Rehab Hospital of Pusan National University Yangsan Hospital and chaired the Korean Association of Rehab Medicine's specialist exam committee. Dr. Ko has held leadership roles with the Korean Spinal Cord Injury Association, Korean Clinical Pain Association, and Korean Geriatric Rehab Medicine Association.
