Maureen A. Coombs has held senior posts in coronary care, cardiothoracic and general intensive care. She is currently Consultant Nurse Critical Care at Southampton University Hospital Trust and holds a Senior Lecturer post with the School of Nursing and Midwifery at Southampton University.
