OverviewThe subject of poverty has plagued humanity for generations. It is the focal point of most governments. Attention to this most sordid area of human existence has tipped the balance between success and failure for many political office-holders. The poverty question and its impact on society is significant. In most countries of the developed world, the governments have been able to reduce the indices of poverty to a significant low. However, in developing and the underdeveloped nations of the world, poverty remains a recurring decimal in the socio-economic structure of their societies.
