OverviewThis book titled poverty and child Mortality in Imo State Nigeria From 2011-2020 is an empirical study which looks at how poverty impacts on child Mortality in Imo State. Four research hypothesis were tested and three were accepted. Both primary and secondary data were analyzed in the study. The central theme of this study is that child Mortality is essentially a problem of the poor, marginalized, vulnerable and uneducated members of the society rather than the problem of the rich, sophisticated, and educated members of the society. The higher the socio-economic status of women the lower their chances of experiencing child Mortality and the lower the socio-economic status of women the higher their chances of experiencing child Mortality.This study was done because child Mortality is a serious developmental issue today in Nigeria. Some recommendations were made at the end of the study which includes the need for the state government, NGO's, CBO's, international donor agencies etc to make concerted efforts to improve the socio-economic status of women in the state.
