Potery collection 435 (Edition1)

Overview

These poems rise from the in-between: where light and shadow meet, where grief sits beside joy, and where life's mess becomes a kind of beauty. Phoenix Rainbow Butterfly writes as someone who has carried, reclaimed and discarded labels. A Black Indigenous American, born post-segregation in the Deep South; neurosparky (her term for neurodivergent), disabled, non-binary; yet always reaching toward a deeper belonging that transcends every box. Their work invites readers to pause, breathe, and remember their shared wholeness and collective joy and pain.

Author Information

Phoenix Rainbow Butterfly is a poet, spouse, parent, therapist, and disability warrior. Born and raised as the first full generation after segregation in the Deep South, Phoenix proudly claims the labels that once felt just forbidden or targeted-Black Indigenous American, neurodivergent, non-binary-honoring what they lacked as a child and what once carried fear or stigma. At the same time, Phoenix rejects labels that divide, believing we are all connected and that Harmony in Diversity is more urgent than ever. After two decades in education and psychology, chronic illness reshaped their path; now poetry and photography help them transform pain into presence.
