OverviewThis book is the personal memoir of G.A. (Gerry) Thompson. He was educated at Glenview Park Secondary School. He subsequently graduated in civil engineering from McMaster University in Hamilton, where he was awarded a B.Eng. and the University of Waterloo where he earned a M.A.Sc. Gerry became a Professional Engineer and later qualified as a Registered Professional Planner. Gerry continued with professional management studies at Harvard, the Niagara Institute and the Banff Centre for Management. Because of his wide professional and community involvement, Gerry has been sought out as a public speaker, commentator and board member. In 2003, Gerry was awarded the Ontario Lt. Governor's Medal of Distinction for Excellence in Public Administration. Gerry maintains an active interest in Canadian policy and international affairs. Gerry is married to Anne, his high school sweetheart. They have two successful daughters; Janet and Katherine. Gerry and Anne have been avid sailors throughout their married life.
