Author InformationJoel Sackenheim is a 15-year veteran grade school basketball coach and former Basketball Director for his local CYO league. His dad, Neal, has coached grade school basketball for over 30 years, and his grandpa, also Neal, coached for years before that. Joel knew he would be a basketball coach when he was 8 years old and head coached his very first team at the age of 19. In addition to his passion for coaching basketball, he has reffed SAY soccer for 28 years, been a pipe organist and pianist in the Catholic Church for 19 years, and has taught Music, P.E., American History, World History, and Roman Catholic Theology at the K-12 level. He has also been an over-the-road trucker and is currently a truck driving instructor, training the next generation of CDL drivers. Joel's most successful player is Emma Broermann, who became her high school's all-time leading scorer, played five years for the University of North Florida, and now plays professionally overseas.
