Overview

The study of the House 'of the Ephebus' adds another 'jewel' to the deeper understanding of Pompeii's private buildings nearly a century after the excavation and after several decades of silence interrupted only sporadically by the analysis of individual finds by various scholars on different occasions and for different reasons. The book deals with the overall study and critical issues of the complex, from the point of view of its architecture, the furnishings found within it, the pictorial and stucco decorations, and the mosaic and sectile floor 'carpets' that adorned it, as well as the figure of its last owner, who was responsible for the final condition of the house.
