"Polyscience and Christianity looks at a forgotten past. Science may be seen as an endless bridge-building process. This goes on in our minds, from our childhood on. However, we reach the limit of ""travelled distances and recorded history."" Can we go beyond this limit? Rationalists say that reliable bridge-building is the job of science, which does require arithmetic and geometry. Are both of these infallible? Pythagorean arithmetic and Platonic geometry are vaguely remembered, but some important details are somewhat embarrassing. Most authors report on the good, lasting impact of this early work. Other aspects of their work are sparsely commented on. Embarrassments are skipped over. The ongoing puzzle is determining how learned authors get from ""wrong"" science to ""correct"" science. In a way, this book says little that is new. Received knowledge reflects the ""received consensus"" given by dominant personalities. Considering overlooked ""snippets"" paints a more complicated picture. This process begins in Greek times, 350 B.C. or thereabouts. In the process, we encounter what can only be called a secular faith. This leads to a wild realization. Bridge-building thinkers do not agree; they can produce learned gibberish! Rationalism mocks both faith and reason! The early church confronted science, falsely so-called, the secular faith. In recent centuries, additional errors have sprouted up. A learned conceptual housecleaning is required. Errors exist in mathematics and some physical principles. In the aftermath of this effort, Polyscience and Christianity shows the ""old"" Gospel is meaningful to both faith and reason. Ex Nihilo creation and empirical science exist and flourish without the bridge-building errors."
