Overview

What is the secular equivalent to Genesis 1:1? Christians gladly say that Genesis 1:1 is foundational because In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. But what about secularists? What is foundational for them? Many Christians answer for them and say the primary secular axiom is Evolution and Natural Selection. Rather, the long view of history shows the primary secular axiom is Mathematics and Astronomy show that the universe has 'vast distances and long ages.' The subsidiary job of geology, biology and psychology is to fill in the details. This view will be critiqued. Consider the Biblical concern regarding science, falsely so-called. The alternative to the above expansive viewpoint is limited theory-free knowledge, which provides a better understanding of the universe and is compatible with the Bible. It is fair to ask if faith improperly intrudes on reason, but reciprocity applies. Has reason advanced to Rational thought such that it exceeds the bounds of objective truth? It seems to be little discussed in other books. Most Christian evangelism follows the Acts chapter 2 example, but Peter was preaching to the choir, at least to those taking monotheism seriously. The Acts chapter 17 example of evangelism is generally overlooked. There, in Athens, Paul had no choir to preach to - only those who grounded themselves in mathematics and astronomy. They identified Paul as a babbler! The book is a resource for a deeper, more meaningful, conversation with secularists! Read on!
