This book introduces and analyses different ways of studying sensibilities. It explores the global production, circulation, management, and reproduction of sensibilities in the 21st century and considers the link between emotions, body, and society. Emphasising the importance of addressing the forms of social structuration from a body/emotions perspective, this book aims to show the impact of the politics of sensibilities within the context of rules produced by social structures. The book will appeal to scholars and students engaged in the study of emotions, sensibilities, and social structuration, particularly from the disciplines of sociology, anthropology, and political studies.

Author Information

Adrian Scribano is Director of the Centre for Sociological Research and Studies (CIES) and Principal Researcher at the National Scientific and Technological Research Council, Argentina. He is also Director of the Latin American Journal of Studies on Bodies, Emotions and Society and the Bodies, Emotions, and Society Program Studies in the Gino Germani Research Institute, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Buenos Aires (UBA). He was a former coordinator of the 26 Working Group on Bodies and Emotions of the Latin American Association of Sociology (ALAS) and also serves now as President of the Working Group 08 ""Society and Emotions"" of the International Sociological Association (ISA).
