An important and timely book which deserves to be widely read. (Fred Dallmayr, University of Notre Dame) During the last decade, the intense debate about modernity and postmodernity and the emergence of new forms of interdisciplinary social theory have opened fresh dialogues that cross and go beyond established professional boundaries. This volume addresses the new intellectual terrain from divergent disciplinary and political perspectives and in international context. The editors have complied a stimulating mix of theoretical and theoretically informed essays, which will be of interest to anyone concerned with the modernity-postmodernity debate. (Robert J. Antonio, University of Kansas) This is an impressive volume which includes papers by leading theorists in contemporary political and social theory. Readers will find not only general theoretical background to issues in postmodernism... but a thoughtful and critical adjudication of these issues. (Stephen H. Watson, President, Society for Phenomenology and Existential Psychology) Author InformationThe Authors: Fabio B. Dasilva is Professor of Sociology at the University of Notre Dame (U.S.A.).
