Eng Chye Phuah was formerly the Head of Strategy & Research at the Securities Commission, Malaysia. He has been involved in capital markets for 30 years; starting as a journalist in 1981 before joining investment management at Arab-Malaysian Merchant Bank. He was head of equity research for K&N Kenanga and PB Securities and a regional bank analyst with Dresdner Kleinwort Benson. He studied economics at the University of Manchester, UK.
