He has taught creative writing, composition, literature, film studies, and media courses at five different colleges. He grew up around the small-town movie theatre business, worked for two St. Louis, Missouri (U.S.A.) theatre circuits, and was a newspaperman for several years. He earned his Ph.D. at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (U.S.A.) and is now working on a Gothic novel, short stories about co-dependency issues, and two screenplays.
