Being a teacher of young children for over 40 years and I am also a parent, it was a delight to read this book about Pogo and Piper. It made me feel calm, happy and positive. In my experience, it is crucial to inspire compassion and mindfulness in young children, for them to develop an understanding of their emotions. Building their self-esteem and confidence about themselves is vital for their future connectiveness to the world. This book does that and more. From an educator and parent perspective, the text and illustrations will create discovery through role play, body movement, art, music, body percussion and inclusive story telling. The rhyme and rhythm of the text will resonate with young children's imagination. This is a beautiful book to be shared with and enjoyed by children and adults alike. Pogo and Piper made me smile.
