OverviewThis work pursues two fundamental objectives: the identification of relevant and exemplary community discourses around and after 1900 and the examination of the 'translation' of corresponding topoi in Kafka's literature. The spectrum of sources explored ranges from political theory and social science studies to anarchist social utopias and the reception of Daoism to nationalist and ethnic ideologies. The literary processes that are used to deconstruct political community projects are discussed. The political dimension of these dislocating text strategies is highlighted.
